World Outreach is our ministry to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ by proclaiming the gospel of Christ, making disciples, planting churches, and caring for the needs of mankind around the world. The scriptural purpose of our church’s involvement in world outreach is to be fulfilling our part in God’s ultimate plan of bringing mankind into a right relationship with Him through Christ, as revealed in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation (see Romans 16:25-27).
As part of our desire to see God exalted and His kingdom spread throughout the world, Ruggles supports several missionaries, including two who work abroad among unreached peoples as well as several who work locally in the US. In recent years Ruggles has adopted one of these unreached people groups so that we can focus our prayers and resources on a specific group of people, seeing that they as a people come to faith in Jesus Christ. In September of 1999, we as a church made a covenant with each other and with God that we are committed to the spiritual redemption of the Shan people of Southeast Asia. Through this adoption, we are committed to praying for the Shan, advocating for them, and assisting them in becoming a self-sufficient and self-reproducing body of believers. If you would like more information on this ministry or are interested in getting involved, please email us at mail@rugglesbaptistchurch.org. Opportunities abound to touch the world and many lives by coordinating prayer for missions, mobilizing short-termers, encouraging hospitality for missionaries on the field or home on leave, and connecting with other volunteers who maintain ongoing contact with missionaries we support. Whether you have coordinated teams or missions efforts before or this is totally new for you, please prayerfully consider this opportunity to help nurture the growth of God’s kingdom.
