Welcome from our Senior Pastor

You may be wondering…how did a church get an unusual name like “Ruggles” attached to it? Great question!  The “Ruggles” name comes from the street this church called home until 1970.  You’ll actually find the Ruggles name quite common in Boston.  The name accompanies a train station, a street in the Roxbury section of Boston, and there even used to be Ruggles Pizza!  Although we do not regularly transport people, nor are we any longer on Ruggles Street, we are known to serve pizza on occasion.

Despite the unusual name of our church, we are a wonderful community of believers committed to helping each other live out our faith in Jesus Christ in our active and vibrant urban setting. The worship service, Community Groups, and other ministries all find the core of their focus to be the Lord Jesus Christ and living for him.

Ruggles is a Baptist church. However, we function as an interdenominational church community.  People from a variety of backgrounds make their way into the Ruggles community. Our worship services are usually led by our staff and a dedicated team of musicians. The teaching and sermons are always from a portion of the Bible with a strong attempt to relate the Scripture to our varied and complicated urban lives.

In all, we might not be what you expect, but we might be exactly what you’re looking for!  So don’t let the strange name keep you away, we’d love to meet you and we know that you’ll find a warm and inviting welcome as soon as you walk through our doors. We hope to see you soon!
