This Sunday we conclude our study of the Old Testament book of Jonah. This series has been called, “Discovering the Depths of God’s Grace,” because this short book (just 4 chapters long) shows us that even rebellious, stubborn people like Jonah (and us!) can’t run away from what God wants to do in our lives.

Join us this Sunday as we listen in on a real honest, heart-to-heart conversation between God and Jonah… about anger, compassion, mercy and more!

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us.

Scripture passage: Jonah 4:1-11

Hope to see you Sunday!

Worship Service (First Sunday of Advent)

This is the first Sunday of Advent.

Our Advent sermon series is called “Longing”; our text is Isaiah 9:1-7.

Isaiah was a prophet, and much of his prophecies focused on the coming of the Messiah: how we would recognize him, what he would accomplish. All of Israel— indeed, the entire world— longed for the day when God would send His Chosen One.

In Isaiah 9, Isaiah gives us a glimpse of what it will be like when our longing is fulfilled and the Messiah comes. Among other things, he will fulfill our longing for light, joy, victory, peace and justice. Christmas, of course, is the time when we celebrate the coming of the Messiah— Jesus Christ.

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us this morning.

Sermon: TBA
Scripture text: Isaiah 9:1-2

Hope to see you Sunday!

This Sunday we’ll continue with our sermon series on the book of Jonah. This series is called “Discovering the Depths of God’s Grace,” because the story of Jonah shows us, among other lessons, that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love and mercy: not the wicked Ninevites, not the pagan sailors with whom Jonah traveled, and not Jonah himself. Even while he was stubbornly running away from the Lord, Jonah was being lovingly and relentlessly pursued by God.

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us this morning.

Today we’ll continue our sermon series on the Old Testament book of Jonah. The series is called “Discovering the Depths of God’s Grace,” because the story of Jonah’s life is not just an incredible adventure; it is also a story of the Lord relentlessly pursuing Jonah, showing love and grace to him despite Jonah’s disobedience and stubbornness. The story of Jonah is a reminder to us that we worship a God who loves us more than we can possibly comprehend, and who will do anything (anything!!) to bring us to himself.

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us.

Sermon: TBA
Scripture text: Jonah 1:17-2:10

We’ll also celebrate the Lord’s Supper together, in remembrance of the price Jesus Christ paid for the forgiveness of our sins.

This week we begin a 5-week series on the book of Jonah. It’s called “Discovering the Depths of God’s Grace.”

Jonah is not about the fish. There is a fish in the story, of course, but this little book is really about God--and us. This is one of the most riveting, shocking, and penetrating narratives in all of Scripture. It shows us the depth of our brokenness and the even greater depths of God's grace.

We’ll dive in head first this Sunday, as Jonah's flight away from God raises the question for us: What happens when God's command contradicts our own deepest desires?

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us.

Sermon: “Saying No to God”
Scripture text: Jonah 1:1-3

Of course, our worship services also include lots of singing, times of corporate prayer, hearing Scripture read aloud, and some time to hang out after the service over coffee and snacks.

Hope to see you Sunday!

We'll look together at what the Bible has to say about our attitude toward money-- as individuals, as families, and as a church community.

We are in Week 2 of a 3-week series on the New Testament book of 2 John

It is one of the shortest books of the Bible, but it is packed with important information for us as individuals, and as a church family.

The two biggest themes of this book are TRUTH and LOVE... hence, the title of our series!

Pastor Josh will preach the word to us. Pray for him as he prepares the message.

Sermon: TBA
Scripture text: 2 John 4-6

Our worship services also include the singing of worship songs (led by our awesome Worship Team), several times of corporate prayer, hearing Scripture read aloud, and some time after the service to hang out and get to know each other over coffee and snacks.

Neel will be preaching from Matthew 11:28-30. Take a moment to read this passage before Sunday, and to pray for Neel as he prepares his message.

Our worship services also include lots of singing (a combination of hymns and praise songs), several times of corporate prayer (including praise, confession, receiving God's grace and forgiveness, thanksgiving, and intercession), hearing Scripture read aloud, and time to hang out and get to know each other over coffee and snacks.

Join us for worship on Sunday! Here's what's happening...

We're finishing up our 4-week series entitled "Lord, Help My Unbelief: Bringing Our Doubts to Jesus." Each week we look at a different story from the gospels of someone who brought their doubts to Jesus. How did Jesus respond? How was each person changed by their encounter with Jesus? And most importantly, how might we be changed? How can Jesus turn our doubt into faith in him as our Savior and Lord?

This week we look at the somewhat surprising story of John the Baptist (Matthew 11:1-19)-- a strong, vocal prophet who encouraged everyone to put their faith in Jesus... but he needed a little encouragement to bolster his faith. It doesn't take much soul-searching to see ourselves, and our own doubts, in John's story.

Our worship services also include lots of singing together, praying together, hearing Scripture read aloud, and hanging out after the service over coffee and snacks.

We'll also celebrate the Lord's Supper together, a very special and meaningful time when we remember Christ's amazing sacrifice on our behalf.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Join us for worship this Sunday! Here's what's happening...

It's Week 3 of our 4-week series on the subject of doubt vs. faith. The series is called, "Lord, Help My Unbelief: Bringing Our Doubts to Jesus," because we're looking at stories from the gospels of various people who brought their doubts to Jesus in some form or another.  Each week we look at what those specific doubts were (maybe you've had similar ones?), how Jesus responded, and what we can take away to increase our faith in our own journey with Christ.

This week Linda Smith will preach the word to us. Her Scripture text (Matthew 17, Mark 9) is the story of a scared and desperate father who brought his son, who was being tortured and abused by a demon, to Jesus for help. The title of this series comes from a direct quote from the boy's father, as he begs Jesus: "I do believe; help me in my unbelief!"

Linda is one of our elders and a long-time member of Ruggles. Her preaching is always encouraging, enlightening and practical. Pray for her as she prepares and studies this week.

Our worship services also include lots of singing, praying together, hearing Scripture read aloud, and a refreshment time after the service to get to know each other a little better.

Hope to see you Sunday!
