Join us for worship on Sunday! Here's what's happening...

We're in Week 12 of our series called "Roots of Our Redemption." It's a study of the first 11 chapters of the book of Genesis. Thus far in this series we've seen, in no uncertain terms, that the Lord Almighty is determined to love us, despite our rebelliousness and sinfulness-- so much so that He even went so far as to send His Son Jesus Christ to be the atonement for our sins (that comes later in the Bible, but we see lots of foreshadowing of it in Genesis!).

This week's story is about Noah and his sons-- but there's no ark, no animals two-by-two, no flood. This is a little-known episode in the life of Noah, and frankly, it might make us a little uncomfortable. We'll read about getting drunk, taking one's clothes off, voyeurism, and family curses. But despite all the dysfunction, we'll still see clear evidence that God's plan of redemption shines through!

James Marohn will be preaching. Pray for him as he prepares the message.

Our worship services also include:

  • plenty of singing together, led by our awesome Worship Team;
  • several times of corporate prayer;
  • hearing Scripture read aloud;
  • time before, during and after the service to get to know each other;
  • good snacks!

Hope you can join us to lift up the name of Jesus together!

We're in Week 11 of our study of the book of Genesis entitled "Roots of Our Redemption." Week after week we continue to be humbled and amazed as we learn about a God who insists on loving us despite our sinful, stubborn rebellion. Even from the very beginning of time, He was planning our redemption-- because He is a God of grace and mercy.

This week we'll look at the second half of the story of Noah (Genesis 8-9:17). Pastor Josh will preach the message for us. Pray for him as he prepares what he'll say.

Hope you can join us!

Join us on Sunday for worship! Here's what's happening...

We're in Week 10 of our sermon series called "Roots of Our Redemption." It's a study of the first 11 chapters of the book of Genesis. So far, we have seen that even in the earliest stages of His relationship with humankind, the Lord was treating us with love and mercy, and already planning our redemption from sin. Where will we see that this week?

This week Pastor Josh will preach the word to us from Genesis 6:9-7:24. This is the story of Noah, the ark, and the Flood; probably one of the best known stories in all of Scripture. But have you ever looked for Jesus in this story?

This Sunday, as we usually do, we'll also sing worship songs together, share several times of prayer together, hear Scripture read aloud together, and spend some time getting to know each other a little better after the service.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Join us for worship this Sunday. We'd love to see you! Here's what's happening...

We're in Week 8 of our series on the book of Genesis. The series is called "Roots of Our Redemption," because even in the earliest stages of God's relationship with his people (even before that, actually), He already had a plan to redeem us from sin so that we might be able to worship and enjoy Him forever. It has been exciting to see God show His love and grace again and again, even in the midst of so much sin and rebellion against Him.

This week we'll be in Chapter 5 of Genesis, which is all about the descendants of Enoch. Where is Jesus in this chapter? He isn't mentioned by name, but we'll find Him! Take some time to read this chapter before Sunday. Pastor Larry will be preaching to us from this text.

Our worship services also include:

  • Lots of singing. We always sing at least 5 worship songs each week (a mixture of contemporary and traditional hymns), led by our awesome Worship Team!
  • Several times of corporate prayer. These prayers take many forms: praise for who God is and what He has done for us; confession of our sin and assurance of our forgiveness through Jesus Christ, as promised in the Bible; giving thanks for all the ways the Lord has blessed us; dedication of our monetary offerings; prayers of intercession for the needs of ourselves, our loved ones, our country and our world.
  • Hearing Scripture read aloud. There is something very powerful and encouraging about hearing the truth of God's Word read aloud in a public place, together with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
  • Time (before, during and after the service) to get to know each other a little better. After the service we have coffee and snacks and hang out for a half hour or so.

We hope that gives you some sense of what we do on Sundays. We'd love to have you join us!

Join us for worship this Sunday! Here's what's happening:

We're in Week 5 of our sermon series on the book of Genesis. This series is called "Roots of Our Redemption," because in Genesis we see God's plan for our redemption beginning to unfold.

Until now, everything has been rather idyllic. God has created a beautiful world and put a man (Adam) in charge of taking care of it. He also gave Adam a woman to be his partner and helper. But in Chapter 3, sin enters the picture, and everything changes as a result.

This Sunday we welcome guest preacher Steven White. Pastor White received his M. Div. from Gordon-Conwell in 2015, and is currently the Pastor of Student Ministries at First Baptist Church in Hampton Falls, NH. Steven and his wife Sarah are the parents of Nora, and soon to be the parents of another daughter! They are dear friends of Pastor Josh and Whitney, and we are excited to welcome them this Sunday.

  • Sermon: "Why Things Are This Way"
  • Scripture passage: Genesis 3:1-13

This Sunday's service will also include a Communion celebration-- the Christian church's "family meal," when we remember what Christ has done for us in order to make us his brothers and sisters.

Hope to see you Sunday!

We're in Week 4 of our sermon series on the first 11 chapters of the book of Genesis. This series is called "Roots of Our Redemption," because in the Genesis we see God's plan for the redemption of His children beginning to unfold.

Pastor Larry will be preaching the sermon this week.

The Scripture passage is Genesis 2:4-25. It's all about the creation of humans in God's image, as both male and female.

Did you know that the first thing God ever called "not good" was when He saw that the man He had created was alone? That's why He created a woman, and it's why we were created to live in relationship with each other.

We'll also sing worship songs together, share several times of corporate prayer, hear Scripture read aloud, and have some social time to get to know each other a little better.

We're on the second week of our sermon series, "Roots of Our Redemption," on the book of Genesis. In this series we'll see not only the beginnings of the existence of the world and humankind, but also the beginning of the unfolding of God's loving plan for the redemption of His people. Even though He is not mentioned by name, we will see Jesus in Genesis!

This Sunday Pastor Josh is preaching the sermon for us. We'll be in chapter 2 of Genesis.

As is our habit on Sunday mornings, we'll also sing worship songs together, have several opportunities to pray together, hear Scripture read aloud, and have a social time after the service to enjoy some refreshments and get to know each other a bit better.

Join us for worship this Sunday. Here's what's happening...

We're starting a new sermon series called "Genesis: Roots of Our Redemption."

The first book of the Bible is all about beginnings: the roots of the universe, the roots of the human race, and the roots of the Jewish people. But more than all of these things, Genesis is about the roots of redemption found in Jesus Christ. It’s the first chapter of God’s story of salvation. Genesis will bring us face-to-face with the depths of our brokenness but also herald the glorious heights of God’s perfect patience and grace for us in Jesus. So let’s look forward to growing together in knowledge and love for Christ and his gospel as we explore the roots of our redemption in Genesis.

Pastor Josh will be preaching the sermon this week. Pray for him as he studies and prepares, and pray for us too, that we'll receive the message gladly and openly.

Our worship services also contain lots of praise songs and hymns, several times of corporate prayer, hearing Scripture read aloud, and time to share refreshments an get to know each other.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Pastor Josh will be preaching the message to us. Pray for him as he studies and prepares what he will say. Pray for all of us who will hear the message too, that if we hear something that challenges us to change our thinking, we will be open to God's leading.

Our worship services also typically include:

  • lots of singing of praise songs and hymns;
  • several times of corporate prayer (praise, confession, thanksgiving, intercession, silence);
  • the reading of Scripture;

(This series is based on the book "Crazy Busy" by Kevin DeYoung. We have several copies of the book available for $5.)

If you are in town for Christmas Eve, we hope you can join us for this very special worship service.

Pastor Larry is preparing a sermon entitled "The Christ Song: Descended Then Exalted to the Highest Place," based on the beautiful description of Jesus in Philippians 2:6-11

Pastor Larry's sermon "teaser": "At Bethlehem God became human. It’s an enormous descent when God the Son leaves the Godhead (Trinity) and is birthed as a baby in Bethlehem. A huge descent! But once his mission is accomplished, he is exalted to the highest place, returning to the Godhead as Jesus Christ our Lord and God. You are invited to come and experience this enormous plunge Jesus endured for us from highest high to the lowest low and back again so that we might live in a relationship with God forever."

We'll also see and hear the annual "That's My King" presentation, sing several traditional Christmas carols, and end the service with a candlelight rendition of "Silent Night."

Refreshments to follow (please bring some food or non-alcoholic drink to share).

Hope you'll join us to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

It's the 4th Sunday of Advent, so of course we'll be lighting the 4th candle on our Advent wreath, and reading an Advent-related Scripture passage.

But that's not all...

We're in a sermon series entitled "Songs of Advent," in which we've been looking at songs of praise, taken directly from Scripture, which express various people's responses to the coming of Jesus.

We've looked at Zechariah's song, Mary's song, and The Angels' Song (if you missed these sermons, you can find them in the "Sermons" section of this website). This week we come to Simeon's song (Luke 2:29-32). Simeon was a faithful man of God who was given a special, unique promise that he would not die until he saw the Messiah with his own eyes. So you can imagine the joy he expressed upon meeting the Christ child for the first time. We'll talk about this experience in Simeon's life, and what it might mean for us as well...

We'll also sing some Christmas songs together, have several times of prayer together, and get a chance to hang out after the service, enjoy some coffee and snacks and get to know each other a little bit...

Come and worship with us this Sunday! Here's what's happening...

It's the 3rd Sunday of Advent. So, of course, we'll be lighting the Advent candles and reading Scripture to go along with that. Also, we're in the middle of a sermon series entitled "Songs of Advent." Each week we're looking at a different song of praise, taken directly from the Scriptures, in direct response to the coming of Jesus the Messiah. We've already looked at Zechariah's song and Mary's song...

This week we'll look at The Angels' Song (Luke 2:8-15). You know the story: the shepherds were in the fields, watching over their flocks by night (can't you just hear Linus' voice?), when all of a sudden, there was a bright light above them, and a host of angels "bringing good news of great joy" and singing praises to the Lord Almighty.

What does this song of praise mean for us today, and how might we respond in 2016 to God's gift of salvation?

We'll also celebrate Communion together, which is especially meaningful during the Advent season.

After the service, we always have some goodies waiting for us in the next room (coffee, bagels, snacks, maybe even some hot cider...), and a time to hang out and get to know each other a little better.

Hope you'll join us this Sunday!

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

But these (signs) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. John 20:31
