FAQs

Thank you for considering a visit to Ruggles Baptist Church. You probably would like to know what to expect, so we hope this page will help you. If you have any other questions or want to let us know that you are planning to come, please do not hesitate to email us at info@rugglesbaptist.org.

How long is the service?

The service is about 90 minutes, from 10:00 to about 11:30 AM.

What is the worship style?

Our service follows an informal liturgy along the gospel storyline, including a Call to Worship, Songs of Praise, Prayer of Confession/Assurance of Grace, Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession, and Sermon. Our style is generally informal, including a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. Some people raise their hands as an expression of praise to God, while some people are more reserved.

How should I dress?

Most people dress casually (jeans) but some people wear slacks or a dress. Don’t spend too much time thinking about what you should wear. We are grateful to have you with us as we learn more about God through the his word, so wear whatever you would feel comfortable in to do that with us.

What about my children?

Children are always welcome! We want to equip parents to be the main disciplers and spiritual influence in their children's lives. During our worship service, we provide a Children’s Discipleship Hour for children 8 and under, and a "Junior Bulletin" with activities and questions related to the sermon for older children. These questions are helpful for parents, as well, to discuss with their children throughout the week.

How can I get to know people from the church?

Join us for worship and then join a Midweek Group!

What kind of church is Ruggles?

Ruggles Baptist Church is an American Baptist Church (ABC-USA). We would describe ourselves as evangelical, reformed, and gospel-centered.

Is there parking available?

There is on-street parking on Beacon Street, which is free on Sundays. We also have four parking spots in the alley behind our building that is accessible from both Park Drive and Arundel Street.
